HELLO! My name is Ms. King! Here's a little about me. I graduated college from the University of Montana. Soon after that, I was offered a job as a high school English teacher in Kemmerer, Wyoming. I had the privilege of teaching in Kemmerer for two years. While in Kemmerer, I taught a wide range of courses including, sophomore and junior English, creative writing, and reading strategies.
Though my experience in Wyoming was undeniably fruitful, I have always had the desire to teach abroad. I believe being exposed to a different culture and perspective has the potential to not only enrich one’s character, but also make one a better teacher. This past year, I was lucky enough to realize those desires by having the opportunity to serve as a language assistant in Burgundy, France. Through this experience, I had the opportunity to teach English as a second language to French high school students. While garnering strategies and methods to teach English as a second language, I have also learned a lot about French culture. This experience has not only allowed me to improve my French to the point of proficiency, but it has also reinforced my belief that using best practices while teaching is the best way to be an effective educator.
I am more than thrilled to be teaching in Red Lodge! I cannot wait to be a part of this great learning community!
